Know your audience

Creating engaging mobile apps for millennials is intimidating. Their symbiotic relationship with the mobile device requires particular attention to insuring usability and engagement is priority if you wish to keep your app within the rotation of home screen favourites - Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc. Realising this, our focus on colour scheme, modern UX / UI design and simple navigation was a top priority for our design team, who set out to make the app an entertaining way for youth to learn about confidence, values and relationships within the Pasifika community.

Progressive web app development

Developing a progressive web app (PWA) allowed us to stick to our strengths with JavaScript, CSS, and HTML, yet still achieve the level of performance and usability that native apps have at a fraction of the cost. It also meant that it could be used on desktop or mobile devices, making it a highly flexible tool for a wide user demographic across all modern browsers and devices. The ongoing progressive design and development requirements for this project will no doubt keep us up to date with the most modern mobile and web app trends moving forward.
