Thoughts
This is our first year entering Best Awards put on by The Designers Institute and recognises the very best talent across the New Zealand design industry.
The process was new for us and challenged our ability to summarise 2 complex projects that lasted over 6 months down to 500 words and some accompanying imagery.
As a result, we had to make every word count. So we went deep on the areas we felt weren't immediately apparent yet made all the difference with the outcomes we were able to achieve.
It gave us a chance to highlight the often overlooked details that go into the process for how we identify and overcome the challenges our clients come to us with.
In order to fully understand these challenges we must first listen. Being mindful and guided by our intentions allows us to realise that despite being a technology company the results we?re after stem from real needs of people and businesses. So at Dream Config, our human-centered design approach is relied on heavily to insure we?re always considering our user at the other end.
Ultimately, the two projects submitted were Desmond for Small Scale Websites and Atu Mai for the Public Good Award. Both have been shortlisted as finalists and come October we?re excited to see how they stack up against our industry peers and the best New Zealand has to offer.
